  • Student Absence and Late Arrival:  Please call the office attendance line by 8:00am (630) 736-3500 and select #1 or send a communication via Parent Square to report your student’s absence or if your child is going to be late.  When using the answering machine, please leave your child’s name, grade, room number and reason for the absence/late arrival.  A call must be made each day your child is absent from school.

  • Deliveries During Lunchtime:  With a focus on student and staff safety, District 54 will not allow food delivery services (including but not limited to, GrubHub, DoorDash, and local restaurants) to our schools.  We will continue to have hot lunch days, which are planned events, organized and supervised by school staff or PTA volunteers.  However, we will no longer accept outside food deliveries to ensure our schools are safe and secure.

  • Daily Requirements:  Each school day, please send your student to school with a snack, lunch, water bottle and charged chromebook for 3rd – 6th grade students. Kinder-2nd grade students will leave their ipads at school.

  • Parking Lot: Due to the limited number of parking spaces for staff, we encourage parents to refrain from parking in the lot during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. To ensure our bus riders are safe, we ask that there are NO moving vehicles in the parking lot when the lot is closed: mornings 8:20am – 8:40am and afternoons 2:50pm – 3:10pm (Wednesdays 2:20pm – 2:40pm).  During the construction at Fox, Parents/Guardians may temporarily drive into the parking lot (mornings only) and drop off students at the front door of the school. Parents will remain in the car.  Students will then walk to the side of the school to line up with their classmates. Once the construction is completed, the parking lot will be closed in the mornings.
  • ParentSquare Communication App:  District 54 will continue to use ParentSquare as a communication format.  Email communications from Principal Buchanan will come from ‘[email protected]’.   Please add this email to your address book to ensure you receive all communications.  Mrs. Buchanan’s first community email was sent on Friday, August 2nd.  Please be sure to check your junk/spam folder if you do not see the email in your In Box. Parent Square can also be used to communicate via text with the office, teachers and staff.  Flyers are available in the office with full details.
  • Insurance – Chromebook/IPad:   District 54 offers an optional insurance program in the event your student’s chromebook or ipad is lost, stolen or damaged.  The insurance fee is $25 and covers the entire school year, devices may be replaced for a $50 deductible fee. Important Note: payments are only accepted during the first 5 days of school.  Please contact the school office for inquiries.
