Principal’s Message August 10, 2019

Hello Anne Fox Community,

We hope you are enjoying the last few days of summer.  Much of the information below is the same as last week, but as you prepare for the start of a new school year these updates and reminders will help us get off to a great beginning!

Class Assignments

Teacher assignments should have been received. If you do not get a letter be sure you have turned in your residency documents to the office.

Assistant Principal

We would like to welcome Priscilla Buchanan as our new full-time assistant principal.  Priscilla comes to us from within District 54 where she spent six years as a classroom teacher and seven years as a district literacy coach.  She is excited to be part of the Fox family!

Registration

Please make sure you have registered your child for the 2019-2020 school year to ensure your child is on a class roster. Registration requires all students to prove residency.  Students who are not registered will not be assigned to a classroom.  If you rent, please bring in current lease and two current utility bills.  If you own your home, please bring in current property tax bill or current mortgage statement along with two current utility bills.  If you will be registering your child for kindergarten, the child’s birth certificate or passport will also be required.

Office Hours

The Anne Fox office is now open from 7:30AM-4:00PM.

Reminder for Sixth Grade Parents

Mailed home in January was a packet regarding health requirements for entry into sixth grade. A current physical examination (dated 8-15-18 or later) is required for all students entering sixth grade. These students must show proof of receiving 1 dose of Tdap, 3 hepatitis B vaccines, 2 doses of varicella vaccines and 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine.  Please have the sixth grade physical examination form completed by the physician and documentation showing proof of required vaccines. Please turn this document into the nurse by the first day of school. Sixth grade students will be excluded from school if this requirement is not met.

Stores are ready with school supplies! If you need a copy of the supply list, please visit our website (resource section) at https://fox.sd54.org/ . If you are having difficulty getting supplies, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher for support.

First Day of School

The first day of school is Monday, August 19th and we will again be welcoming students through the “Tunnel of Hope”.  Students should arrive to school at 8:25 and stand outside on the line that is labeled with their room number.  They will be met by their classroom teacher and at the first bell they will enter the building through the main entrance.  Parents are invited to line up on both sides of the front sidewalk and help create the “Tunnel of Hope” where students will be clapped in for a new school year.

  • On a typical school day the students will line up on their classroom line and wait until 8:25 when they will be let in the building.
